Masya
Masya started briefly in 2008, after toying with the idea by Ashraf & Khairul from V3h3m3nt about forming a Malay Band, with inclusion of Hirmie on vocals & avid songwriter & temp-member of Exist. Roping in ex-members from Jade Adversaries & Zaibaktian — Hairee & Martin to complete the line-up on bass & drums.
Previous work together helps in some way. But obvious musical differences have make this band grow in a different light. With style of singing by Hirmie and modern twist of the guitar riffs by Ashraf and Khairul, this is unlike their work that they have done before. It is a project to break into the malay market which is a focus now for Masya.
Playing diverse genre from Indi to Metal, Emo to Funk since mid 90’s — past commitments varies from V3h3m3nt, Exists, Jade Adversaries, Zaibaktian, Al Grande Terrorismo. This is the first time all members have actually sat together to form a simple yet honest genre ever. Just a simple rock with a modern twist.
Kau Tetap Yang Satu — Masya’s first single. A heavy melancholic number. Recorded and Mixed by Leonard Soosay of Snakeweed Production and Mastered by Alex Wharton of Abbey Road Mastering. With other songs that are still work in progress, Masya will make their stand known in the region’s Malay music market.
